WISCONSIN — Here, kitty, kitty: Dozens of cats from Kentucky are looking for their forever homes in Wisconsin.
On Monday, the Wisconsin Humane Society took in 32 cats from Kentucky that were displaced due to the recent tornados that hit the state. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' disaster response and animal relocation teams have been working to help animals in the area.
They transported hundreds of cats out of Kentucky shelters to different states around the country. This way, there are resources and room in Kentucky's animal shelters for pets and families impacted by the natural disaster.
Wisconsin Humane Society said that shelters in Kentucky are overwhelmed with animals in need as more come to their doors every day.
ASPCA flew the cats from Kentucky to Wisconsin. The cats were already in shelters before the tornadoes hit.
Some of the cats and kittens in Wisconsin are already available for adoption, but others will need more care or medical treatments before they can find forever families.
