LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Judge Julie Kaelin dismissed charges against Shajuandi Barrow Tuesday.

Barrow was one of dozens of protesters angry following the death of Breonna Taylor in 2020 and arrested on East Market on July 24, 2020. 

Barrow, 35, was charged with unlawful assembly and obstructing a highway. Judge Kaelin dismissed the case with prejudice because the prosecution had video of the incident and failed to turn it over to the defense.

A police citation written that day said Barrow and several other people made barricades and shut down East Market Street.

The citation noted that protesters were given multiple orders to disperse due to unlawful assembly, the protest caused an alarm and annoyance to the businesses in the area and multiple 911 calls were made about the actions of the crowd. 

Barrow faced one to 90 days in jail and a $250 fine for each charge if she was convicted.
