LEXINGTON, Ky. — Broadway and theatre fans rejoice! The Lexington Opera House announced its 2021-22 season of Broadway Live and Variety Live shows Thursday. Audiences will enjoy five Broadway shows and two Variety Live events in person this fall as the Opera House returns to full capacity public performances.

"Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "An Officer and a Gentleman," "Waitress," "An American in Paris," "Hairspray" and "Concert With the Stars and Stomp" are featured in the new season.

“We are thrilled to announce the new 2021-22 season and welcome patrons back to the Opera House,” said Luanne Franklin, director of performing arts. “We are excited to present five sensational Broadway titles, along with two Variety Live shows for the new season. From classics to comedies, appealing to everyone from grandparents to grandkids— and all ages in between — we have a Broadway season to lift your spirits and bring you joy!”

The lineup features five national touring Broadway musicals, one cabaret-style concert and a highly acclaimed Broadway percussive performance.

Season ticket holders are also able to buy additional tickets to Broadway Live shows at a 10% discount and in advance of the general public on-sale date. They also have the first opportunity to purchase tickets to Variety Live presentations.

The Broadway Live series will present five performances of each show, all of which are scheduled to take place over the weekends, including three evenings and two matinees. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday evening performances at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday evening performance is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 1 p.m. Season ticket prices range from $205-$385, which you can begin ordering Friday at noon. The Lexington Opera House said it will follow guidelines recommended by state and local health officials, and protocols will be posted on the Opera House website. Ticket holders will also receive a message with any updated requirements before each event.
