SHARPSBURG, Ky. — The Barnyard Entertainment Venue plans to open in July of this year in Sharpsburg Kentucky, about 40 miles east of Lexington.
“In the small town of Sharpsburg, we wanted to bring some things to the local community, but we wanted to kind of rebuild, you know, we wanted to help the town grow again,” said Jeffrey Vice, booking and promotions manager at The Barnyard Entertainment Venue.

Bath County workers are still constructing the 23,000 square foot entertainment venue which is set to open in July, with a capacity of around 8,000 people the first year. Because of the pandemic, Vice said they’ve had to push back the opening date due to regulations and delays of material shipments.
"It has impacted some of the construction, as far as getting materials in a timely manner we were still planning on opening in May, but with the pandemic, and the weather and everything we've pushed that back to July the third,” Vice said.
With over 170 acres of land, Vice said the venue will be mostly outdoors. They plan to hold concerts, comedy shows, movie nights, family nights and even add a campground area on their land sometime next year.
“So far, that's been one of the best things we haven't had one single negative comment; it's been positive," Vice said. "It's great for the small economy and we can hopefully, you know, for the county and everything we can bring a lot of jobs in here I think we're looking at employing 150 to 170 people depending on the size of the event."
The Barnyard will start their hiring process next week on their website. Vice says they plan on announcing on April 22nd the artist for their first event.
