LEXINGTON, Ky. —The coronavirus has impacted many small businesses throughout the pandemic with the Ultimate Ninja in Lexington being one of them.
“All ages, all levels of athleticism. So I have obstacles in here that a one-year-old can do, and I have obstacles in here that 99% of people can't do.” said the owner of Ultimate Ninja, Brendan Kelly.
Brendan Kelly, the owner of the gym, has spent years planning for opening day and has had to adjust his plans to accommodate for the virus. As of right now, he is planning on doing online videos and training sessions, as well as hopefully moving outside to do some sessions at public parks keeping in mind social distancing policies.
“We’re trying to figure out how we can reach people when they can't come here and most likely we can't really go anywhere else. So it's just trying to formulate a plan in that sense.” Kelly said.
Brendan was planning on opening his gym two weeks after the coronavirus pandemic started and is asking for community members to help support his local business. He hopes to open the gym in June once Governor Andy Beshear (D) says it is safe to do so.
