LEXINGTON, Ky.—Old World Timber is a manufacturing company whose mission is to Reclaim, Redeem, and Repurpose--not only the wood that they create their products from--but also the lives of their employees. They partner with organizations and different ministries to connect people with difficult backgrounds and circumstances who need a second chance. 

“It's pretty neat to see these guys who have made some mistakes, as we all have. But then go from a place where they get back on their feet to really learn a skill, specifically in manufacturing.” CEO and founder of the company, Nathan Brown said. 

With about 25 employees in the company, Vernon Jackson, an employee of Old World Timber says that the company feels like a family to him and it's easy for everyone to get along understanding that they all have a past and they are trying to move forward. 

“We know what it's like to have been in the gutter, so to speak. And now we know what it's like to be on top of the world, and we like to say we’ve lived two different lives.” Jackson said.
