FRANKFORT, Ky. — President Donald Trump has officially filed for reelection in Kentucky.

Attorney General Daniel Cameron filed the President’s paperwork Thursday with the Kentucky Secretary of State’s office.

Cameron said he’s honored President Trump choose him to file on his behalf.

“I think if you talk to folks, whether it be in Pikeville, whether it be in Paducah, whether it be in other parts of our commonwealth, they would tell you that they’re proud of the work the President has done to fight for them, to fight for ordinary Kentucky families,” Cameron said.

As of Thursday at noon, President Trump was the only Republican to file for the May 19 primary.

Seven Democrats have filed paperwork so far: Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren, Andrew Yang, and Tulsi Gabbard.

The deadline for candidates to file is Friday at 4 p.m.
