LEXINGTON, Ky. – The fight against drug and alcohol abuse will get some assistance in 2020.

Divine Providence, Inc., the Catholic Action Center and the Catholic Diocese of Lexington announced their plans for the future of the Cliffview retreat facility in Lancaster, Kentucky.

Divine Providence Way at Cliffview will provide a unique, holistic, sustainable healing community for men and women who are suffering with drug and alcohol addiction.

Mountain Comprehensive Care will operate the therapeutic facility with the Catholic Action Center and community partners including Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) will develop sustainable agriculture programs and educational opportunities.

“We feel that it’s going to be a model of how we deal with folks with dignity,” said Ginny Ramsey, the director and co-founder of the Catholic Action Center.

Cliffview is located on 42 acres on a peninsula formed by the Herrington Lake and the Dix River in Garrard County, Kentucky.

Ramsey is confident the natural beauty will help compliment with the programs final goal of helping men and women who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction.

“They will end up being able to recreate themselves in a way that they can go with their life in a totally different way than they ever expected,” said Ramsey.

Participants will be accepted into the program in early 2020.
