LOUISVILLE,Ky- The Louisville Waterfront is getting in the Fourth of July spirit with a family fun festival and fireworks display.
The Louisville Waterfront Fourth celebration will feature local musical entertainment, family activities, a patriotic installation of 15,000 U.S. flags, festival cusine and a Zambelli fireworks display from a barge on the Ohio River.
The evnet is free to get in and start at 5 p.m. with a varity of activities produced by popular arts and cultural attractions, includinga kids stage where the Kentucky Science Center will have live science demonstrations, that begins at 6:45 p.m.
The kids stage will be near the children's playground.
There will also be a large area devoted to engaging with community helpers, where families can meet first repsonders, fire fighters and police officers who have special equipement on display.
Local musicians will perform on the main stage through out the night. These artist include The Zach Longoria Project, James Lindsey & Company, Joslyn & the Sweet Compression and The Spinsters Union of Louisville.
At 10 p.m. the Zambelli fireworks display will go off on the Ohio River.
Organizers of the event ask that you not bring the following items to the Louisville Waterfront Fourth celebration:
Glass
Coolers
Fireworks
Pets
Outside food and alcohol
Amplication devices
Bicycling or skatebording inside the event.
