LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Every year Jefferson County Attorney Mike O'Connell releases the list of parents who are delinquent in their child support payments. This year there are 4,272 parents listed and they owe more than $96 million in child support payments.
“These amounts often build up over years and my staff works tirelessly to connect kids with the child support dollars that are rightfully theirs,” O’Connell said.“The information you share with us could be vital to a child in need.”
Here is a quick look at the realities of delinquent child support:
- TOTAL OWED: $96,062,175.77
- HIGHEST AMOUNT OWED BY A MAN: $521,659.04
- HIGHEST AMOUNT OWED BY A WOMAN: $73,192.50
- Women (524) make up 12.27% of the list
- Men (3,748) make up 87.73% of the list
