Michael Cadigan is ready to start a new adventure in Kentucky, after spending his whole life in Florida. He's excited to explore the Bluegrass State and check out all of the amazing food here. Michael is a little worried about having to deal with snow, because cold for Floridians is 55 degrees.
He worked for the past three years for the Fox affiliate (WFTX-TV) in Fort Myers. During his time there, he covered hurricanes, the Pulse nightclub shooting and the Fort Lauderdale airport shooting.
Michael's career in broadcast journalism began as a photographer and editor for WFTX-TV (Fox 4). After a couple of months, Michael got an opportunity to work as a general assignment reporter.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication-News from the University of Florida. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. Michael also worked for the local NPR station, ESPN Radio and WUFT-TV.
Michael enjoys running on nature trails, working out and binging TV shows. He also enjoys meeting new people. If you happen to see him running at Cherokee Park, go ahead and stop him to say hello. Just be warned -- he might ask you for a story idea.
