“Deck the Y’alls” is a holiday light display at the Thomas More Stadium in Florence. The stadium is a member of the West Division of the Frontier League, an independent baseball league.

When baseball season ends, this ballpark becomes a winter wonderland.

“Well, this is ‘Deck The Y’alls.’ This is all about a two and a half million lights in the ballpark, as hopefully you can see behind me. Everywhere is strung with lights. Majority of them are choreographed to music,” said David DelBello, president of the Florence Y’alls.

In addition to the lights, there are also plenty of decorations around the ballpark.

Guests have the opportunity to walk the playing field and even don some ice skates to spin around on the outdoor ice rink.

“Obviously baseball is our main thing that we do, so we wanted to find something that we can do in the off season. So that was this. It’s a really popular area for it. We have a bunch of other light shows in the area, so we figured we might as well give it a shot,” said Hannah Roaden, marketing and fan engagement manager for Y’alls.

Prep work started for the event as soon as the baseball season ended.

“So, the day after our season ends for baseball, we start hanging lights. We take down signs; we put lights up,” explained Roaden. “We start setting everything up in September and then we get it done pretty much two or three days before opening day.”

The merry and bright interactive display is located just 10-minutes south of downtown Cincinnati.

“The Y’alls aren’t just about baseball. We’re about how do we entertain the community and how do we give back to the community? And this just is another way to do it just happens to be in winter,” said DelBello.

The event is already open and runs through New Year's Day.
