EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — The city of Ventura has officially declared a local state of emergency in response to the recent high-surf events, according to a news release from the city.
The move allows the city to expedite disaster response and seek emergency funding from the state to assist with recovery.
The City Council had ratified the local state of emergency on Tuesday. It will remain in effect for the next 60 days.
