IRVINE, Calif. — A large fire affecting a commercial building in Irvine was under control after hours of efforts from multiple law enforcement departments Saturday.
The fire was reported just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of Kettering Street, between Gillette and Armstrong avenues, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
A third alarm was placed and nearby Alton Parkway and Aston Street were also temporarily shut down to traffic.
Fire Capt. Thanh Nguyen said all personnel from inside the building were evacuated due to the severity of the flames.
In an update around 7:10 p.m., the OCFA stated the fire was under control, with the assistance of Irvine Police Department, Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue and the Newport Fire Department.
