Fentanyl overdose deaths in Los Angeles County rose by more than 1,200% from 2016 to 2021, according to LA County’s latest data report.

To help community members protect each other, the LA County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to create a pilot program to make LA County Library distribution sites of the life-saving medication Naloxone, also commonly known as Narcan.

The free clinics were also made available through the LA County Department of Public Health in partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services.

Residents can now pick up Narcan at five LA County libraries until Nov. 9th. The only requirement is to watch a 5-minute video onsite to collect a free box.
