PALM SPRINGS (CNS) — The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control awarded the Palm Springs Police Department a $55,405 grant to battle alcohol-related crime, police announced Monday.
“The program can improve the quality of life in neighborhoods,” ABC Director Eric Hirata said in a statement. “We’ve seen a real difference in the communities where the grant program resources have been invested.”
The agency’s Alcohol Policing Partnership awarded 27 other grants to law enforcement agencies in California, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
The program aims to reduce alcohol-related problems in communities by keeping alcohol away from minors and bringing penalties against businesses that violate the law, according to police.
