SANTA ANA, Calif. — The suspect in a standoff that prompted lockdowns at Lowell and Pio Pico elementary schools in Santa Ana has been taken into custody.
Lowell and Pio Pico elementary schools in Santa Ana had been placed on lockdown as police worked to arrest a possibly armed suspect barricaded in a vehicle near the campuses.
Santa Ana Unified School District officials said all students are safe, but no one was being permitted in or out of the campuses while the lockdowns continued.
