After almost a week of Arctic air, many Ohioans are looking forward to a new season and at least some warmer temperatures.

What You Need To Know

  • The Climate Prediction center released its 90 day outlook

  • Most of Ohio will be leaning above normal with temperatures

  • All of Ohio looks to be having a wetter than normal March, April and May

On Thursday, the Climate Prediction Center released its three-month seasonal outlook, which highlights what it may be like for meteorological Spring which is March, April and May.

Temperatures for most of Ohio are in the light orange which means temperatures will be "leaning" above normal.

Northwest Ohio and parts of west-central Ohio look to be in the "normal" range for temperatures.

Looking outside of Ohio, it could be a very warm Spring for Texas, Florida and the east coast where temperatures will be more above normal than in Ohio.

While this may be good news after our subzero wind chills, the precipitation outlook for March through May shows most of the state will be above normal for precipitation.

This could mean more rain, storms and possibly severe weather if our temperatures are warmer than usual.

We could increase humidity, one of our ingredients for strong or even severe storms.

The precipitation outlook nationally shows areas in Colorado, Texas and Florida will be below normal.

This means if you are going on a spring break south, you could expect warmer temperatures and drier skies.

It looks like a rainy pattern will set up for the Pacific northwest.

These are outlooks for far out so of course things can change, but with a lot of us just looking forward to seeing simply above freezing temperatures, this might be a welcome pattern.
