LOS ANGELES – Travelers flying into the Los Angeles International Airport will now have an extra leg added onto their trip as they will have to take a shuttle to a new location for rideshare or taxi pickups.
LAX is prohibiting Uber, Lyft and taxis from picking up passengers curbside at the terminals. Flyers will now have to catch a shuttle to a nearby parking lot to meet their ride.
The change will take effect on October 29. The goal is to alleviate traffic congestion surrounding the terminals, especially while the area is under construction.
Travelers can still be dropped off at the airport using a rideshare or taxi. The change will not impact anyone being picked up by family or friends at the terminals.
