LOS ANGELES — Homelessness is a growing issue in Los Angeles that also reaches veterans.

In LA County, there are more than 4,000 homeless veterans, according to the 2023 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count.

After spending 37 years in prison for murder, U.S. Army veteran Ismael Tarazon had his sentence of life without the possibility of parole commuted by former Gov. Jerry Brown in 2018.

Since then, U.S. VETS helped Tarazon with temporary housing, mental health and wellness counseling and more.

To support veterans like Tarazon with housing and other supportive services, U.S. VETS launched the Make Camo Your Cause campaign to brand camouflage to support veterans.
