NORWALK, Calif. — Couples who are feeling a spontaneous urge to merge on Valentine’s Day will have the opportunity to get a same-day marriage license and civil ceremony at the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s headquarters. Ordinarily, county clerk district offices require an appointment, but the registrar is waiving the requirement for a Valentine’s Day special event at its Norwalk office Tuesday.
From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 12400 Imperial Highway in Norwalk, couples who pay a $35 wedding ceremony fee and $91 for a marriage license can say their “I do’s” on-site.
The Registrar-Recorder encourages couples to fill out their marriage license application online in advance to expedite the process. To seal the deal on Valentine’s Day, they will need to be present together and provide proof of identity and age documents, such as a driver’s license or passport.
A complete list of qualifying requirements can be found on the county clerk’s website.
