LA QUINTA, Calif. — A magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported near La Quinta in Riverside County Monday at 3:20 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was centered 16.5 miles southwest of La Quinta and 17.4 miles southwest of Palm Desert.
It was about 7 miles deep.
It was centered 17.6 miles southwest of Rancho Mirage.
There were no reports of injuries or damage.
The epicenter of Thursday's quake occurred in what’s known as California’s “earthquake country” because it’s where three tectonic plates meet.
It was reported at 12:39 a.m. Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
Monday’s quake was centered near the Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park.
Local rescue teams were involved when the 52-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son were freed from the building that collapsed.
On Friday, the council adjourned in memory of the victims of the earthquake.
The disaster has killed more than 22,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
