EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Soulja Boy was ordered to pay $4 million Thursday to a Jane Doe who accused him of sexual battery and abuse during their two-year relationship, according to media reports.
The 34-year-old rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Way, was found liable for a range of civil claims including sexual battery, assault and gender violence.
The woman, who filed her lawsuit anonymously and asked not to be named throughout the trial, said she worked as Soulja Boy's assistant for nearly two years, during which time he regularly raped and beat her, and at times keeping her as a prisoner, according to reports.
Soulja Boy — best known for his 2007 hit single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" — was previously sued for assault and kidnapping in 2021 and, two years later, was ordered to pay $471,800 to an ex-girlfriend, according to reports. The woman claimed he had kidnapped her and held a gun to her head at his home after a party in February 2019.
Another woman also accused the rapper of assaulting her in 2021, alleging that he put a gun to her head and kicked her in the stomach while she was pregnant. She said she suffered a miscarriage after the incident, according to reports Thursday.
