LOS ANGELES — Machine Gun Kelly will perform during a race break at NASCAR’s Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum next month, organizers announced Sunday.

The 33-year-old Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, is known for his genre-mixing output of rock, punk and hip-hop, and for his high-profile relationship with actress Megan Fox. He’s also appeared in several films as an actor, including “Bird Box,” “The Last Son” and “Midnight in the Switchgrass.”

“Machine Gun Kelly is the true embodiment of what it means to be a modern-day rock star,” said Ben Kennedy, NASCAR’s senior vice president for racing development and strategy. “We’re thrilled to have as captivating of an artist as MGK bring in the 2024 season during the Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.”

In addition to his race-break performance on Feb. 4, Kelly will showcase his signature nail polish line UN/DN LAQR and his Cleveland-based 27 Club Coffee lounge with pop ups at the NASCAR Fan Fest.

The races will take place on the Coliseum’s temporary, quarter-mile asphalt track beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 4, with the NASCAR Mexico Series’ King Taco La Batalla en El Coliseo followed by the NASCAR Cup Series’ Busch Light Clash at 5 p.m.

NASCAR has opened its season with the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum for the past two years. Joey Logano won the inaugural event in 2022, while Martin Truex Jr. won the 2023 trophy in February.
