LOS ANGELES — Neil Young will play a concert for the first time since 2019, the 77-year-old musician announced Monday. The rock icon will headline a fundraiser benefiting autism with former bandmate Stephen Stills on April 22 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.
Stills and his family have run an annual concert called Light Up the Blues since 2013, except during the pandemic when it went on a COVID-induced hiatus. Young and Stills will co-headline the sixth Light Up the Blues show and be backed by Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. Rap artist Soul Shocka, opera singer Amanda Anderson and other artists who are on the autism spectrum will also perform.
The April concert will benefit Autism Speaks, an organization that seeks to increase understanding and acceptance of individuals with autism and their families. Tickets to Light Up the Blues will go on sale Wednesday for a previous buyer pre-sale, Thursday for an internet pre-sale and Friday to the general public.
