SANTA MONICA, Calif. (CNS) — Taylor Swift received three People’s Choice Awards Tuesday evening in Santa Monica, while Elizabeth Olsen won for top female movie star and Chris Hemsworth for top male movie star.
Swift won for female artist of 2022, winning in a field that also consisted of Beyoncé, Camila Cabello, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj.
Swift also won for album of 2022 for “Midnights” and music video of 2022, “Anti-Hero.”
Harry Styles won for male artist of 2022, beating out Bad Bunny, Charlie Puth, Drake, Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, Luke Combs and The Weeknd.
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” won for movie of the year over “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Bullet Train,” “Elvis,” “Jurassic World Dominion,” “Nope,” “The Batman” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
Hemsworth won for male movie star of the year for his performance in “Thor: Love and Thunder” over “Top Gun: Maverick” stars Miles Teller and Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt (“Bullet Train”), Chris Pratt (“Jurassic World Dominion”) Daniel Kaluuya (“Nope”); Dwayne Johnson (“Black Adam”) and Ryan Reynolds (“The Adam Project.”)
Olsen won for female movie star for “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” over Gal Gadot (“Death on the Nile”), Jennifer Garner (“The Adam Project”), Jennifer Lopez (“Marry Me”) Joey King (“Bullet Train”), Keke Palmer (“Nope”), Queen Latifah (“Hustle”) and Viola Davis (“The Woman King.”)
During the ceremony at the Barker Hangar, Shania Twain performed and received The Music Icon Award honoring her career, while Reynolds received The People’s Icon Award to note his contributions to the industry, and Lizzo received The People’s Champion Award for her commitment to diversity and inclusion.
“Saturday Night Live” veteran Kenan Thompson hosted the ceremony for the second year in a row.
