ANAHEIM, Calif. - Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes may be new in California, but don’t be surprised if you feel like you’ve been here before. Everything on the menu at this restaurant is served up with a big slice of nostalgia on the side.

“Being back out here in California, where I spent a lot of my childhood, is a very big deal. And then to be opening in Downtown Disney is every restaraunteur’s dream,” said Black Tap founder Chris Barish.

From the music playing (80’s pop and 90’s hip hop), to the award winning burgers, the craft beer, and the outrageous milkshakes, Barish explains it all contributes to what Black Tap stands for.

“It stands for fun, I think it’s an all-inviting place and I don’t think we take ourselves too seriously,” he said.

Don’t take yourself too seriously is good advice for anyone trying to dip into one of the nine signature Crazy Shakes. There is no graceful approach.

“I honestly thought of my favorite memory as a kid and I think of myself trying to convince my dad to chase the ice cream truck and get me a strawberry shortcake Bar,” said the restaurant chain’s Creative Director, Courtney Wright.

Wright would know, she is one of the creative minds behind the picture perfect explosions of sugar that might just have you zipping down memory lane. The Strawberry Shortcake Shake is an Anaheim exclusive.

While the  Black Tap chain has established itself in New York, Vegas, and Singapore,  Barish says he had some extra motivation for getting to Disney.

“I have a 10-and-a-half-year-old daughter who is Black Tap’s biggest fan, she also happens to be Disney’s biggest fan,” he said.

Black Tap has poured itself into the Southern California scene and is ready to make you feel like a kid all over again.
