Photographing what lies below the surface of Catalina Island has given underwater photographer Bruce Hall the ability to see the island in a very unique way.

Hall was born with numerous eye conditions, from astigmatism to macular degeneration. He is legally blind, but for nearly 40 years, he has used his camera and lenses as devices to literally see and photograph Catalina Island thousands of times.

His artwork has been on display around the world, featured on major publications and is now part of an outdoor installation titled “Below The Surface” at the Catalina Island Museum for Art and History.
