LOS ANGELES (CNS) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Wednesday for the seventh consecutive day, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $5.831, one day after rising a half-cent.

The average price has risen 5.7 cents over the past seven days following a run of 28 decreases in 30 days totaling 29.6 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is $1.734 more than one year ago, but 14.8 cents less than one month ago.

The Orange County average price rose for the sixth time in seven days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $5.78. It rose four consecutive days, decreased seven-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The Orange County average price has risen 6.9 cents over the past seven days, including 1 cent Tuesday. It is $1.714 higher than one year ago, but 15 cents less than one month ago.
