LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose for the 11th consecutive day and 15th of the past 16, increasing four-tenths of a cent today to $2.94. The average price has risen 8.1 cents over the past 16 days, including a half-cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price rose today for the 23rd time in 24 days, increasing one-tenth of a cent to $2.902. It has risen 13.2 cents over the past 24 days, including three-tenths of a cent Thursday. It rose for 20 consecutive days, was unchanged Tuesday and resumed rising Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 3.1 cents more than one week ago and 10.1 cents higher than one month ago but $1.04 less than one year ago. It has dropped 64.3 cents since the start of the year.
