CABAZON, Calif. (CNS) — A crash involving a Greyhound bus on the 10 Freeway in Cabazon sent 12 people to hospitals with various levels of injuries Friday, but none were believed to be life-threatening.

The crash was reported around 11 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway at Malki Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Details of crash were not immediately available, but the bus wound up against the freeway's center-divider wall. It was unclear if the bus collided with any other vehicles.

County fire officials said 12 patients were taken to hospitals, "all with non-life-threatening injuries ranging from minor to moderate."

Crystal Booker, a senior communications specialist for Greyhound Lines, told City News Service the bus was traveling from Los Angeles to Phoenix.

Booker said multiple passengers and the driver were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

"Our primary concern is ensuring we care for our passengers and driver at this time," Booker told CNS.

Greyhound Lines had no further comment. A relief bus was sent to pick up the remaining passengers, according to Booker.

One traffic lane was closed as emergency crews responded to the crash, prompting a lengthy backup on the eastbound side of the freeway.
