SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — Weeks after the holidays have come and gone, a Los Angeles Rams dedicated Christmas tree still remains in the home of super fan, Angel Fabela.

What You Need To Know

  • The Rams face the Packers in the NFC Divisional Playoff on Saturday

  • Angel Fabela is a superfan who will be cheering them on

  • Fabela was on the committee to bring the team back to Los Angeles

  • She credits the Rams with helping with her recovery from breast cancer back in 2013

“This tree does not go down until after we win the Super Bowl,” Fabela said.

Because of Covid-19, she couldn’t get to a game this season even as a season ticket holder. She was there in spirit though, with her cardboard cutout. She’s dedicated an entire room in her house to the Rams.

The team is particularly special to her because they helped her get through the hardest time of her life.

“I was diagnosed with Cancer in May of 2012,” she said.

Watching the then St. Louis Rams helped lift her spirits, and the team even sent her gear to show their support in her breast cancer battle.

“While I was watching the games hoping and cheering for them, it distracted my mind. Honestly, it made chemotherapy, and eventually radiation easier to handle.”

Just one year later, after being cancer free she had another mission, bring the rams back to L.A. She was on the committee to advocate for the team’s return.
“They had to right that wrong that was committed in my opinion, by the NFL, by allowing them to move,” Fabela said.

Since the team returned her family hasn’t missed a game where fans have been in attendance. Now, after winning the fight for her life and the fight to bring her team home, the Rams are just three wins away from completing the story.

“That would be the ultimate culmination for me – to see them win a Super Bowl for the city of Los Angeles.”
