HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Take a close look, it might make you pause, because someone special has come into town- it's Santa Claus!

"Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas," said Santa.

Dressed in all fur from his head to his toes, he left the North Pole to see all of the Los Angeles kids before they go to bed. For the past 88 years, he has come to the Hollywood Christmas Parade, and thankfully he has many little helpers who allow him to get away.

MORE HOLIDAY STORIES:

"Lots of elves, are doing a lot of work up at the North Pole. Mrs. Claus is in management and she's in charge of supervising a lot of things. They're taking care of getting everything ready for all of the children at home," said Santa.

He came into town with two reindeer and his sleigh.

Walked the red carpet as the biggest celeb of the day!

But he didn't stop in Hollywood for the fame or the attention.

It's to see the excitement on kids' faces as he makes his way down the procession.

"It's a chance for hundreds of thousands of children to see me along the parade route and of course everyone at home gets to see me too," said Santa.

The crowd is ready to meet Saint Nick and the musical guests start to sing "Santa’s gone Hollywood."

A toy soldier float, the Ghostbuster’s car, what else will this parade bring?

But little do they know at the other end of the boulevard, Santa walks to his sleigh. He puts on his gloves, his hat, and his cape, he moves fast as not to delay!

"And I just like to see smiles on faces, that's the whole thing," said Santa.

Right before he boards, to Santa's surprise, Mayor Eric Garcetti and his daughter Maya have arrived!

"I have a picture of Santa with the Marine Corp," said Santa.

Maya looks at her gift and these two snap a pic. But now it’s time for Santa to begin his trip.

Rudolph and crew make their way down and the crowd goes wild to see who's in town.

He turns off Hollywood and travels down Vine as these little kids have been waiting a long time.

Just to say hello to the jolly old elf, but the parents they too hope to make the nice list themselves!

"This is the season for all of us to give a little in some way to somebody so that we can also experience a little bit of the joy of Christmas," said Santa.

Down Sunset Boulevard Santa and the reindeer must go.

It's the final leg of the parade before Saint Nick returns home.

But he has brought Christmas cheer to the children and their families.

Who will await Kris Kringle all the way to Christmas Eve.

But he has one thing to say before he's out of sight.

"Ho ho ho ho, Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
