SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – A wildfire burning in Santa Barbara County prompted mandatory evacuations in the Santa Ynez Mountains as 600 firefighters worked to control the flames. The fire has burned 4,330 acres and, as of Wednesday, is 10 percent contained.

No homes have been destroyed and no injuries have been reported. The evacuation orders were lifted on Wednesday.

The fire ignited at 8:57 p.m. on Monday east of State Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo Road. County officials declared a local emergency at 10:30 p.m. while crews continue to battle the blaze.

The southern parts of the county are currently experiencing power outages due to the fire. 

An emergency call center has been established at 833-688-5551.
