UPLAND, Calif. – A pilot has died after his small plane crashed through the roof of an Upland home and sparked a fire on Thursday.

Just before noon, the plane crashed into the house on North Mountain Avenue and West 15th Street. Upland police confirmed with Spectrum News 1 at the scene that the pilot has passed away.  

According to San Bernardino County Fire District, all of the residents of the home are accounted for.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. Nearby residents are asked to avoid the area while crews assess the exposure threats.
