HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Flowers, wreaths, and candles were left at the Hollywood Walk of Fame star for legendary Mexican singer José José.

José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz, who went by the stage name José José, died at the age of 71 of pancreatic cancer on Saturday.

His star is located at 7036 Hollywood Blvd. He was known for his music and acting career.

Ortiz was born on February 17, 1948 in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City. He has six children and is survived by his wife Sara Salazar.

His most notable songs include “El Triste,” “El Amar y el Querer,” and “Vamos a Darnos Tiempo.”
