LOS ANGELES – As the nation comes together to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, there are several ways to commemorate locally.
9 to 11 Minute Plays and Stories:
- A series of stories based on experiences from 9/11 will be presented by Street Smarts of Acting.
- Located at Loft Ensemble 11031 Camarillo St., North Hollywood
- Event from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
- Tickets cost $19.11
- This tribute will honor former Canyon Sands homeowner Barbara Keating, who was one of the victims in the Twin Towers plane crash.
- Event at 4 p.m. at the Keating Memorial tree
- Located at 2269 Mira Monte Circle West
- Attendees invited to place flowers or flags at the tree
- A vigil by candlelight will be held at the La Quinta Civic Center, featuring musical performances, speeches, and public art created with pieces from the World Trade Center.

- Event at 7 p.m.
Palm Springs Fire Department Ceremony:
- The Palm Springs Fire Department is holding a remembrance ceremony to honor the lives lost on September 11.
- Moment of silence begins at 5:46 a.m.
- Located at 300 N El Cielo Rd
Los Angeles Fire Department Ceremony:
- The Los Angeles Fire Department will hold a remembrance ceremony to honor the first responders in the September 11 attack.
- Located at Frank Hotchkin Memorial Training Center at 1700 Stadium Way
- Event starts at 9 a.m.
9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in Hermosa Beach
- The City of Hermosa Beach honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 9/11 response and recovery
- Intersection of Pier Avenue and Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach
- 5:30 p.m.
- An informal ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hills Fire Department Headquarters
- Beverly Hills Fire Department HQ

Culver City 9/11 Rembrance Ceremony
- The City of Culver City will have a remembrance ceremony to honor the men, women, childre and first responders who lost their lives as a result of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
- Culver City Fire Stations
- Ceremony at 6:55 a.m.
Pepperdine University – Waves of Flags
- Brief ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. Entertainer Pat Boone is scheduled to place the final flag.
