Bronzeville Collective MKE is located in Milwaukee’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood, which for many years was a vibrant, primarily Black business district.
The collective started a pilot through a City of Milwaukee pop-up program.
Co-Founders Lilo Allen and Tiffany Miller said the collective now features more than 30 local brands.
Miller is the owner of FlyBlooms, which is a handcrafted adornments company. Allen owns Papyrus & Charms, which is a wearable art company.
Allen and Miller said they focus on promoting Black-owned businesses and giving them a place to thrive.
They’re also interested in expanding and replicating the project in other communities, and said they’d be eager to work with other stakeholders on such a project.
