DOWNEY, Calif. – Flushing out anxiety and stress is what Marcela Arrieta has been doing a lot more of these days due to COVID-19.

She’s not healing the virus, but rather the anxiety and stress people are feeling due to the pandemic.

“We have to keep in mind that everything is energy, whether we see it or not," Arrieta said. "We’re swimming in this energy of all of this emotion, worry, anxiety, and whether we realize it or not, or don’t know where it’s coming from, we’re picking up this energy from other people."

Arrieta is a holistic pranic healer. Pranic healing is a healing system based on the belief that the body has the ability to heal itself using energy.

It’s a branch of alternative medicine that some may see as controversial, but Arrieta says many people use it along with Western medicine. She says it helped her years ago.

“In three months time of practicing the pranic breathing and self healing and other forms and the meditation on twin hearts I was able to rid myself of years worth of migraines, of years worth of panic attacks,” said Arrieta.

Margaret Chan is also a pranic healer and says practicing techniques like meditation has helped her relieve stress and anxiety.

“With everything that is going on at the moment, a lot of are affected with stress and anxiety, so we definitely need more healing just to allow us to be more calm and have more clarity,” said Chan.

The healing sessions include meditation, breathing techniques and even a salt water bath you can do at home for energetic hygiene.

“Remember, we’re all interconnected, we’re swimming in an ocean of energy so it doesn’t matter where the physical body is," said Arrieta. "We, through pranic healing, learn to connect to that person's energy and facilitate healing.”

It's healing that Arrieta says is becoming even more important as we navigate through the stresses of life.
