LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Hollywood's "For Your Consideration" (FYC) billboards adorn the city throughout the year, but the dazzling activations, displays, and screenings have become increasingly popular, aiming to capture the attention and votes for major awards shows like the Emmys.

What You Need To Know

  • Hollywood's "For Your Consideration" (FYC) billboards are back capturing the attention and votes for major awards

  • The Hollywood Strike last year muted the FYC campaigns

  • Post-strike, FYC events are rampant

  • Emmy nominations-round voting remains open until June 24, with nominations set to be announced on July 17

Despite last year's muted FYC efforts due to the Hollywood strikes, efforts resonate in a post-strike industry.

At a colorful showcase for "RuPaul's Drag Race," Emmy-winning costume designer Erica D. Schwartz expressed her delight at seeing the costumes up close and hearing directly from the creators.

"It's great seeing it on TV, but there's something so special about live theater and live dancing and things coming to life," Schwartz said.  Season 16 cast member Sapphira Cristál said that, awards or not, there is an educational value to these events, noting they can attract new viewers to the show.

Over in West Hollywood, Disney's display featured popular shows like "Capote Versus the Swans," "The Bear," and "Abbott Elementary," with screenings and panels focusing on specific shows each day.

Jessica Yu, director of "Quiz Lady," appreciated connecting with audiences and seeing their reactions to the film.

"It's great to have an event that is just about Quiz Lady, and everything here is kind of oriented towards the things in the film. And it's great to have the audience be able to see it in a theater and just really have it be a communal event, which is so great, especially for comedy," Yu said.

Emmy nominations-round voting remains open until June 24, with nominations set to be announced on July 17.
