LOS ANGELES — One of the biggest nights of jazz in LA, the two-day Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival on Saturday and Sunday, hosted by Arsenio Hall, features a diverse group of artists including Bell Biv DeVoe, Poncho Sanchez, Kamasi Washington, Gretchen Parlato, Big Freedia, Boukman Eksperyans and more.

The festival, co-curated by Kamasi Washington and Herbie Hancock, also features up-and-coming talent from the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance Ensemble, the LAUSD Beyond the Bell All-District Jazz Big Band, and LACHSA Jazz.

Founded in 1986 as the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, The Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz is a nonprofit education organization that supports promising young musicians with college level training by world-renowned jazz masters, including programs for public school students, with a mission of preserving the global art and culture of jazz.
