LOS ANGELES (CNS) — Wonder Woman 1984 kept its spot atop the box office this weekend, grossing $3 million in its third week of release, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

Director Patty Jenkins' highly anticipated sequel to her 2017 hit has seen a significant drop from its $16.7 million gross on opening weekend, taking in $5.5 million last weekend at theaters in the United States and Canada, Comscore reported. The film is also available for home viewing on HBO Max.

The Croods: A New Age took second place with $1.8 million Friday through Sunday in its seventh week in theaters.

News Of The World was third with $1.24 million, followed by Monster Hunter with $1.1 million and Fatale with $670,000.

Those top five films were in the same spots last weekend.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were Promising Young Woman ($560,000), Pinocchio ($208,770), The War With Grandpa ($147,327), Come Play ($95,000), and Half Brothers ($60,000).

Indoor movie theaters in Southern California are closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, leaving only limited outdoor screenings.
