People seeking vaccines in the Beach Cities once again have an opportunity to receive their doses at Manhattan Beach's Adventureplex play facility.

Beach Cities Health District will operate the vaccination clinic at the complex, 1701 Marine Ave., Manhattan Beach, on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for anyone living or working in Los Angeles County.

The Adventureplex site will offer the Pfizer vaccine, which is authorized for use on 16 and 17 year olds. However, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who may give consent for the vaccination.

The site will require appointments; no walk-ups will be allowed. Registration is available at But anyone seeking their jab at Adventureplex may want to act fast — according to a BCHD spokesperson, slots at the site fill up quickly.

If the Adventureplex slots fill up, BCHD also offers vaccinations at its 514 N. Prospect Ave. complex, in Redondo Beach. That clinic, hosted in partnership with South Bay Family Health Care, operates on a rolling basis, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays each week, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Moderna vaccine is offered at that site — however, Moderna hasn't been authorized for distribution among 16 and 17 year olds.

Appointments are also required for vaccines at BCHD's campus, and can be made through South Bay Family Health Care at 310-802-6170.
