Disney on Tuesday announced it is offering SoCal residents who live within the 90000 – 93599 zip codes (from San Diego County to Bakersfield), three-day one-park, weekday tickets for $199 for visits beginning on Jan. 3, 2022. Three-day park-hopper tickets, the ability to jump between both parks on the same day, are $259.

Usually, a regular three-day, one-park ticket package to Disneyland and or Disney California Adventure starts at $330; a three-day park hopper would be $390. A standard ticket price for a one-day visit to the Anaheim theme parks begins at $104. The promotion runs from Jan. 3 to May 26, with certain high-traffic holiday days blocked out.

The deal comes as Disney closes out its busy holiday season and heads into the new year after making sweeping changes due to the coronavirus pandemic and re-introducing old favorites sometime early next year.

After starting the year closed due to state government mandates and reopening in April, Disney has rolled out a phased reopening plan with many attractions closed and workers being hired and re-hired to boost its labor force.

Next year, Disney announced it would bring back the pyrotechnic show Fantasmic at Disneyland and the World of Color water and light show at Disney California Adventure. Along with those two mainstay nighttime spectacular attractions returning, Disney is bringing back its Disneyland Forever fireworks show and the Main Street Electrical Parade with its earworm Baroque Hoedown for its 50th anniversary.

The resort has also announced several other new events coming early next year, such as the annual Lunar New Year celebration, Disney California Food and Wine Festival and a Mickey Mouse birthday celebration.

SoCal Disney deals are not new. For years before the pandemic, Disney offered a variety of discounted tickets deals for SoCal residents. This current deal is only for three-day packages. It might have been discounted one or two-day trips in years past.

Typically, the winter months up until spring break and leading into summer are traditionally slower for theme parks.

Along with the new deal, Disney is offering SoCal resident visitors a chance to try its new Genie+ service for an additional $20 a day.
