LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Los Angeles based artist Nadine Judge’s artwork, painting by numbers templates, became quite popular throughout the pandemic.
The collection is titled Together We Painted Alone. Judge thought of the idea and brought together front-liners and people of all backgrounds to paint for a cause from their homes.

“I had the idea of, maybe I could get a few people together, and this could be a unique piece that reflects the pandemic, the time when we were isolated, and donate it to CASA,” said Judge.
The large 9-by-12-foot artwork contains 39 pieces and is currently available for purchase.
Judge said she hopes whoever the fateful buyer is knows that 100% of the proceeds will benefit CASA’s foster services programs in Los Angeles. Artist Shepherd Fairy blessed the artwork with a special autograph. Judge said every contributor to the piece was impacted by the experience.
“People were really inspired, and the things that were said about the experience were quite interesting. They did not feel so alone. One person sat down every night, five o’clock, with a glass of wine, and felt like she was with other people, because she was doing it for a cause,” said Judge.
There were additional pieces received that didn’t make the cut due to spacing issues, but Judge said she hopes to see the final masterpiece hanging somewhere where onlookers can be inspired.
"My goal is for it to be in a lobby. It would be great in a hospital, an office building, like a We Work. It would be amazing. I have a description that goes with it, where people just read it and think about this time."
