LOS ANGELES — Two cameras attached to a tower at Ken Dyda Civic Center in Rancho Palos Verdes is giving the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and four area cities a bird's-eye view of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

The cameras are part of a soon-to-be four camera Pano AI network that is scanning the area 24/7 for signs of smoke to alert emergency responders.

A lifelong resident and Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy volunteer, who has had close calls with wildfires, tells Spectrum News what it means to them.
