The Republican National Convention has ended its third night of events with tonight’s theme of “Land of Heroes.” Speakers included counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway, President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump, and Vice President Mike Pence, who closed out the night.
Roger Neal, a publicist and producer, tells Inside the Issues Pence’s speech made him want to do better.
“I’m inspired to be a better American by this speech,” he said. “One of the greatest moments for me was the young man who was in a wheelchair and he stood up when he started to recite the pledge. I have to tell you, I had tears in my eyes. I was inspired. I’ve been inspired this entire week.”
Last week’s Democratic National Convention boasted many celebrity appearances but Neal said the Republican’s made a conscious decision not to choose a “star-powered” week.
“I just think it was a choice that was made by who’s producing the Republican Convention, not to have a lot of stars and the Democrats’ convention producer decided to have a lot of stars,” said Neal.
