SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. — A nonprofit educational farm and center in San Juan Capistrano is celebrating 15 years in the community.

The Ecology Center is Southern California’s first regenerative organic certified farm, growing all kinds of produce.

It is also helping to teach the future stewards of the earth, the children enrolled in the center’s educational programs.

Kids like Luna Bustos have even learned to enjoy vegetables.

“Maybe because I know more things about everything," she said. And like how they move and how they basically grow and connect with the earth.”

Bustos said she’s also learned multiplication, about animals, fungi, and many other things while attending classes at the center.

The Ecology Center offers classes that last from one day to weeks, a junior farm-raised program, summer camps, special farm dinner nights, and many other events.

It also features a produce stand open to the public and a vegetarian restaurant, Campesino Cafe, that serves farm-to-table food.
