GREEN BAY, Wis. — Sunday’s Packers-Bears game at Lambeau Field felt like a preseason contest. For the Green Bay Packers, playoff seeding didn’t seem like a big deal.
The Chicago Bears played harder than I thought they would, but they’re not going anywhere.
In the end, the Bears 24-22 victory over the Packers sends the Packers into the playoffs with two straight losses. So much for momentum.
Jordan Love left with an elbow injury, but he could have come back under different circumstances and doesn’t seem concerned.
Christian Watson was carted off with a knee injury. That seems to be more serious. We’ll know more as the week goes on.
It turns out that Washington beat Dallas, so the Packers’ loss didn’t impact their playoff seeding. They’ll be the 7th seed and have to go to Philadelphia to play the Eagles in the first round. That's scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12.
The Packers stressed that it’s a clean slate now. Very true. We’ll see if the Packers can fix their problems, which resulted in an 11-6 regular season. If not, they’ll be done and out of the playoffs.
