GREEN BAY, Wis. — If you’re watching HBO’s offseason “Hard Knocks” on the New York Giants, you know they wanted to keep McKinney.

McKinney chose the Packers in free agency. He said he isn’t watching the show, nor is he looking back.

“My focus is here; my focus is with this organization, with the Packers, with these guys in this locker room," said McKinney. “I’m 100% all in on these guys and focusing on what we need to do to get what we want to get done and accomplish what we want to accomplish this season.”

McKinney’s leadership skills have already been noticed in Green Bay.

“Right away, his talent flashes and shows up all over the place,” said Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur. “Just the kind of person he’s been — as a leader in the meeting rooms on the field. Couldn’t be happier about getting a guy like that.”

“This is who I am,” said McKinney. “I’ve been like this since I was born and honestly, I don’t really see an issue with doing it. Kind of knowing what needs to be done and where I need to lead.”

And McKinney said what he’s seen in Green Bay is even better than he expected.

“It’s more than I thought it would have been, honestly. So, I think it’s been great, though. Everybody is on the same page. Everybody’s out there moving fast, flying around and it’s been fun, man. I haven’t been a part of something like this since college, to be honest with you,” he said.

McKinney said the Packers defense should drastically improve their interception total, which was just seven in 2023, because they are loaded with playmakers.
